A: For certain documents (like Florida Wills, Deeds, or Powers of Attorney), the law requires independent witnesses to sign alongside you. You are welcome to provide your own witnesses, but they must not be related to you, must be over 18, clear-minded, and carry a valid photo ID. If you cannot find anyone, I can provide a witness for an additional fee. Please let me know in advance if you need me to bring a witness so I can arrange my travel schedule accordingly.
Q: What do I need to have ready for our appointment?
A: Please ensure you have the following ready when I arrive:
  1. Valid Government Photo ID: A driver’s license, state ID, or passport that is current or issued within the last 5 years.
  2. The Entire Document: Bring all pages of the document, not just the signature page.
  3. No Pre-Signed Pages: Do not sign or date the paperwork before I arrive. I must witness you signing the document live.
Q: Can you answer questions about my legal documents?
 
A: No. As a Notary Public, I am legally prohibited from giving legal advice, explaining the effects of a document, or helping you fill out legal paperwork. Doing so constitutes the unauthorized practice of law. If you have questions about what your document means, please consult an attorney before our appointment.
